Auction terms & conditions

Each lot is sold as genuine, unless otherwise described. The Buyer may return the lot for full refund if it is declared not as described, provided such lot is received back within 21 days maximum from the date of sale in the same condition as it was in the time of sale. No lot shall be rejected if subsequent to the sale it has been immersed in water, or treated by any other process. Collections or stocks shall be put for sale no subject to rejection and shall be taken by the purchaser with all (if any) faults or errors of description. No lot illustrated in the catalogue shall be rejected on the ground of cancellation, centring, margins, perforation or other characteristics apparent clearly from the illustration.

• The auctioneer reserves the right at his absolute discretion to combine any two or more lots, to divide any lot, to withdraw any lot, to bid on behalf of clients, and to refuse any bid, but shall not be liable for errors or omissions in executing instructions to bid.
The auctioneer has the right to photograph or otherwise produce an image of the Lot. All rights in such an image will belong to auctioneer and he shall have the right to use it in whatever way he sees fit.

• The auction is carried out in EUROs (€) against cash payment. Foreign money accepted at the rates of exchange on the day of sale.

• Each lot is put up subject to the starting price imposed by the vendor. Any offer below the starting price will not be considered.

• Bidding opens at the starting price, in absence of higher bids, and determined by the announcer in the following bidding increments:

10 to 30 € in steps of 1 €
30 to 60 € in steps of 2 €
60 to 150 € in steps of 5 €
150 to 300 € in steps of 10 €
300 to 600 € in steps of 20 €
600 to 2000 € in steps of 50 €
Above 2000 € in steps of 100 €.

• A Buyer’s premium of 18% plus 0,50 € per lot plus the appropriate VAT on charges will be added to the sale price and is payable by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The purchase price is due at once from bidders on receipt of the invoice.

• If auctioneer receives bids on a particular Lot for identical amounts and at auction these bids are the highest bids for the Lot, it will be sold to the person whose bid was received first.

• The bidder is responsible for the invoice’s payment. In case buyer fails to make payment within twenty (20) days from the date of the sale, auctioneer has the right to cancel the sale of the Lot or any other item sold to the buyer at the same auction.

• The placing of a bid will be taken as full agreement to the above conditions. Any dispute between the contracting parties shall be subject to Greek law and to the jurisdiction of the competent Court in Thessaloniki.
